A car was stolen in New Delhi in under a minute.

This viral case has put a spotlight on vehicle security in India.

A car was stolen in New Delhi in less than a minute, leaving many shocked over how quickly thieves can strike. Early on 21 June, a group arrived in a car, hacked the car’s security system, and drove it away as if it were theirs.

The owner, Rishabh Chauhan, shared the CCTV footage on Instagram. His car was parked outside his home in Safdarjung Enclave when the incident happened. The video clearly shows how easily the thieves carried out the crime, as per TOI.

How the Thieves Struck

In the clip, a car approaches from another street and parks beside Chauhan’s car. A man steps out, breaks the driver-side window, and then leaves. A few minutes later, the same car returns. This time, a masked man exits, swiftly hacks into the vehicle’s system, unlocks it, and drives away—all in under 60 seconds.

A Warning to Other Owners

Chauhan posted a screenshot confirming that the Delhi Police have started an investigation. In his caption, he warned other owners, saying, “Hi, my Hyundai Creta was stolen in 60 seconds on June 21, 2025. As seen in this video, the Creta is not safe when parked outside. The security system seems to be hacked or leaked and can be bypassed in under a minute.”

“If Delhi isn’t safe, I don’t even want to imagine the state of other places in India.”

How Social Media Reacted

The post has gone viral, with over 3 million views and more than 2,500 comments. While some users questioned the date mentioned in his post, others suspected possible involvement of local police or security guards.

For now, the car remains missing, and Chauhan’s story has become a strong reminder that no vehicle is truly theft-proof.
