There’s no way around it: access to clean air is essential. If you’re in an area affected by dust, pollen frequent wildfires, general germs from colds, pet dander or some combination of all of the above, then you’ll definitely benefit from having an air purifier in your home.
These devices can get rid of odors, absorb dust particles, rid the air of harmful smoke and much more. We found one that’s smartphone-compatible, cleans spaces up to 1,858 square feet and has reviewers saying they believe it’s helping keep people in their home from getting sick. And right now, the option for medium-sized rooms is 26% off, the lowest price it’s been in months.
This air purifier has an auto-function that detects when the air has pollutants and speeds its fans up accordingly to capture the dust, odors, particles like viruses and smoke, mold and more. It also catches airborne dander, helping relieve allergies for those sensitive to pets. “My partner’s sniffles and red eyes from pet dander are a thing of the past,” one wrote. “Children have less sniffles and less coughing,” said another.
You can manually set its fan speed to clear your space faster or pair it with its smartphone app for scheduling, air qualify monitoring and filter replacement (also sold on Amazon) reminders. Blueair claims this model cleans 83% faster and makes 50% less noise than earlier models of its air purifiers.
It features a night mode to turn off its lights, just in case you’d like to put yours in the bedroom, plus it connects with your Wi-Fi so you can link it with Alexa for voice commands and schedules.
Several reviewers say it’s super quiet and its auto-fuction works really well. “One morning my wife was cooking bacon,” explains a reviewer,” and the auto kicked in and ramped up to high to clear the air. Tells me the sensors really work and doing their best to keep your air clean.”
“Amazing! I have two young kids in 1st grade & preschool. They bring home ALL the germs. Since we put this air purifier in our living space, we’re not spreading the sicknesses around. My husband and I have hardly gotten sick all school year! I love the auto feature. It’s usually super quiet in the background but when I cook strongly scented food or clean with a fragrant cleaner, it kicks on to high and cleans out the air. My house smells better, feels cleaner and is healthier. Highly recommend” — Molly G
“This is the best purchase I’ve ever made. So far I have not been sick this winter and it’s the first winter that I haven’t coughed at all. I have a house that has a lot of open area. I also have three cats that shed a lot. I don’t have to vacuum as often as it removes all the loose hair. I just wished I had purchased it sooner. I am planning to get one for my upstairs.” — Amazon customer
“I would wake up sniffling or stuffy… often under-rested. I assumed that I was experiencing irritation at night from airborne elements (shrug). As an experiment, I decided to try this air purifier to improve my sleep and morning condition. For the price, I am so happy with the results! I wake up normally now – no abnormal congestion and I feel more rested. I connected it to a smart plug and have its activation scheduled during my resting hours :)” — Eric F.
“Our second unit only larger for the family room. Children have less sniffles and less coughing. We like the washable outer filter. Quiet and looks good.” — Katie Lizzie
“This is my second Blueair purifier, although the first one of this model that I’ve bought. We use this purifier in our master bedroom, so the fact that it has a night mode that is silent and dimmed lights is important. The lowest speeds are completely silent and even the highest speed is fairly quiet (quieter than our non-Blueair purifier’s “quiet” mode). The app allows you to see the air quality in your room and control your device remotely. Setting up the device and app is extremely simple and clear. Make sure you follow the instructions for cleaning/replacing filters and Blueair devices will last a long time. We have the filter on permanent order so we don’t have to think about when to replace it. However, the app allows you to see the “life” left in your filter, which can vary based on your situation and use. This device has been very helpful during pollen season for allergy relief. Most of the time I leave it on “automatic” mode and that works perfectly fine for day or night. Blueair purifiers fit almost anywhere and you just forget they are there.” — M. Lewis
