The Robots, Mechs, and Machines sale offers big discounts on a range of great games featuring (you guessed it!) robots, mechs, and machines. This includes huge discounts on XCOM and XCOM 2 collections and their respective expansion packs. So, if you’re an XCOM fan looking to add to your collection or you want to dive into the series for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to do so – for less.
This deal sees XCOM 2 in particular get some great discounts. There’s a whopping 92% off the XCOM 2 Collection, which includes the War of the Chosen expansion pack and five DLCS – more than enough to get you started on your XCOM journey. This discount knocks the price down from an eye-watering $99.99 / £72.99 to just $7.99 / £5.83 – saving you a massive $92 / £67.16. Considering War of the Chosen is one of the best turn-based strategy games around, you’re getting a mega bargain here. If you decide to pick it up, make sure to check out our War of the Chosen tips.
The addition of the DLC means that you’re really getting the definitive XCOM 2 experience here. One of the most exciting things that this give you access to is the excessively deep pool of character customization – you can really make every soldier a unique character as you head out to do battle against the invading alien forces. Though don’t get too attached to them – this game has permadeath.
Not only can you customize the appearance and personalities of your squad, but the way that they do battle. There are lots of unique approaches to battle, with different weapons and techniques available for different units. Meanwhile, the enemies match this perfectly, as they come in many shapes and sizes and require lots of different strategies. There’s a lot of nuance here, and you can really tuck into these deep battle tactics.
If you want to go one step further, you can pick up the XCOM Ultimate Collection for 87% off, with the price slashed from $148.99 / £104.99 to just $19.36 / £13.64. Not only does this deal save you over $120 / £90, but it also gets you three games: the aforementioned XCOM 2 Collection, the XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Edition, and XCOM: Chimera Squad. If you’re new to the series, I highly recommend grabbing this collection.

And it’s not just XCOM games discounted. There’s 80% off the brilliant Bioshock: The Collection (which I highly recommend for horror fans) and price cuts for a range of Borderlands games. Another standout, however, is the 50% discount on The Outer Worlds and its various editions. The standard edition of the game is half-price, with discounts on its expansions, too. With The Outer Worlds 2 release date on the way, this is a great opportunity to play the first game if you haven’t yet.
