Garlic Butter Baked Salmon

Salmon topped with butter, garlic, parmesan and lemon and baked to perfection!

ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pound salmon fillet (or trout)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened or melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano (or italian seasoning)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (optional)
directions
  1. Place the salmon on a baking sheet, optionally lined with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Mix the butter, garlic, parmesan, lemon juice, italian seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, and spread over the salmon.
  3. Bake in a preheated 400F/200C oven until the salmon is cooked through and the top is golden brown and bubbling, about 15 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle on the parsley and enjoy!

Option: Top with panko breadcrumbs.
Option: Add the parsley to the butter mixture.
Option: Change up the herbs. (Dill works really well!)
