Etihad upgrades its Kolkata route with next-generation aircraft and world-class service.

Etihad Airways has announced a major upgrade for travellers flying to Kolkata.
From 26 September 2025, the airline will deploy its cutting-edge Airbus A321LR on all flights between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata.
What’s New Onboard?
The A321LR is a narrow-body aircraft that offers wide-body style luxury. The new aircraft features:
- First Suites with forward-facing flat beds in a 1-1 layout
- Business Class with 14 lie-flat seats for added comfort
- Economy Class equipped with ultra-modern 4K touchscreens and high-speed WiFi
Passengers across all classes can look forward to enhanced space, privacy, and top-notch entertainment during the flight.
Calling India a key market, Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, shared: “With this upgrade, our guests can now enjoy a superior travel experience, whether in our luxurious First Suites, Business Class lie-flat seats, or next-generation Economy cabin. This investment underlines our ongoing commitment to providing world-class service and greater connectivity across the Indian subcontinent.”

Etihad offers four weekly services both ways on this route:
From Abu Dhabi to Kolkata
- Flight EY 0220: 20:30 – 03:00+1 (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sun)
- Flight EY 0222: 14:00 – 20:35 (Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun)
From Kolkata to Abu Dhabi
- Flight EY 0221: 04:00 – 07:25 (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat)
- Flight EY 0223: 21:30 – 01:00+1 (Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun)
