The idea of relaxing during the holidays with a difficult, gruelling soulslike may not suit most people, but, if you’re excited about the idea of a game combining Elden Ring-style boss fights with a co-op shooter spin, you should try Remnant 2. Right now the game (and all its DLC) is at its lowest price ever for Black Friday – but it’ll shoot back up to full price after the sale season.
One of the best co-op games in recent years, as well as one of the most exciting action-adventure games for the soulslike genre, Remnant 2 is a difficult but rewarding experience for those up for the challenge. While the chaotic action makes for an excellent solo experience, it’s certainly a better time with friends – especially if you all pick Archetypes that mix together.
You don’t need to play the first game to enjoy the experience either, but we strongly suggest it. Our Remnant 2 review explains that the game polishes up on its predecessor, calling it a “compelling patchwork of mechanics [that are] quite unlike anything else”, giving you all the more reason to pick it up.
Whether you’re a newcomer to the series or not, Remnant 2: Ultimate Edition is an absolute bargain right now. Thanks to a Black Friday sale on Humble, RPG fans can pick up the game and DLC for just $34.99, a huge 50% discount from the standard price. So that’s the full experience for half price, but you only have until Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT before the deal expires.
Even if you’d rather play the first game before this one, we strongly recommend grabbing this offer – it’s not like you have to play it right away. It can sit in your Steam library until you’re ready to play it, and when you do, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you didn’t pay full price.
If you’re a soulslike co-op shooter fan who’s been looking for their next hit, Remnant 2 brings the best of both worlds and is absolutely worth every penny. However, there are plenty of other games you can buy for cheap during the Steam Black Friday sales, with some of the best PC games ever at a fraction of the usual price.
