At under $30, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now at its lowest price ever

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is just over a year old now, but boy oh boy, it’s still worth sinking countless hours into. Since its debut, Capcom has released many patches to improve the overall game experience, so throw any negative day one reviews in the bin, because Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a monsterpiece. If you’ve not played it yet, Humble Bundle has it at a nice 58% discount, and if you’re really lucky, you might even be able to get it for 64% off in a Fanatical flash sale (though the deal is only available for 24 hours).

At its heart, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a role-playing action game where you design your own character and explore a big, open world that remains faithful to its predecessor. You play as a mute character akin to the stereotypical RRG genre, but the character customization options are unrivaled. With extensive options for body proportions, tattoos, and even posture, you can really make the character your own. If you want to play as a short human with heavy makeup, go for it! Then there’s the class system. Play as a fighter, a mage, or maybe even a thief? There are many to choose from. It’s these mechanics that earned it a spot in our best RPG games list.

The combat is also unique. Like Monster Hunter, you are encouraged to climb on the big boy beasties and target their weak spots. You can push the monsters over or just beat them up. Should you build a solid enough team of pawns, you’ll be laughing when it comes to combat. Which leads nicely onto pawns. Pawns are AI companions who stick with you through thick and thin. You’ll have your main pawn, who is customizable in appearance, vocation, and skills, as well as two supporting pawns. In our Dragon’s Dogma review, Nat Smith says, “Some may consider the pawn system to be its most defining mechanic,” and I’d have to agree, pawns certainly help with tricky creatures that need a good slaying. Thank goodness for the CPU fix that helps us appreciate all these features without dwelling on performance issues.

Like Elden Ring, Dragon’s Dogma 2 rewards curiosity, and with a beautiful landscape, you’ll find yourself wanting to explore every inch of the land. There is no hand-holding and very few tutorials, meaning when you get something correct, it’s even more rewarding. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is also packed with open-ended side quests with multiple ways to resolve. My favorite is the quest where you must disguise yourself as a pawn to investigate a phantom oxcart. You can access areas before you need to if you are curious enough and can even kill plot-critical characters. Which is nice. I love killing important people.

If you’ve been meaning to add Dragon’s Dogma 2 to your Steam library, then head over to the Humble Store. You can get it for $29.39/ £22.67 up until Sunday, June 29, 2025. Or, if you are really quick, you can get Dragon’s Dogma for £25.19/£19.43 in a flash sale at Fanatical.
