Indian Railways is set to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging points within station premises.

Under the new program, the cost associated with pick-and-drop services at railway stations will be lowered, providing relief to passengers.

Indian Railways has announced a significant initiative aimed at reducing costs for passengers using pick-and-drop services at railway stations. This initiative is expected to benefit commuters using special vehicles for transportation. Under this new program, the cost associated with pick-and-drop services at railway stations will be lowered, providing relief to passengers.

Additionally, Indian Railways is set to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging points within station premises. Initially, this initiative will commence at two major stations within the Agra division of Northern Railway.

The introduction of EV charging points at Agra Cantonment and Mathura Junction railway stations is designed to facilitate passengers picking up or dropping off family and friends. Commuters can conveniently charge their electric vehicles while within the station premises, thereby eliminating concerns about fuel costs. These charging points will operate round the clock, year-round, promoting e-mobility and reducing carbon emissions.

This move aligns with Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to enhance non-fare revenue streams and promote sustainable practices. The charging facilities will be available at affordable rates, benefiting the general public and contributing to environmental conservation efforts. Notably, drivers frequenting Agra Cantonment and Mathura Junction railway stations will find these charging points particularly advantageous.

Indian Railways continues to prioritize initiatives that improve passenger convenience, reduce environmental impact, and advance sustainable mobility solutions across its network.
